The F.U.N. (Families united in Nature) Eco-Family Therapy programme is an innovative way of delivering family therapy to families. It is an evidence-based project,
which draws research evidence from the effectiveness of multi-group family therapy i.e. offering a therapeutic intervention to multiple families and eco-therapy i.e. using nature as a therapeutic
The project is activity-based and aims to offer families an opportunity to enjoy indoor and outdoor activities which will highlight current relational patterns and
promote new ways of being with each other as a family.
It is designed to provide a safe therapeutic space to a small group of families (maximum 5) in order to promote family attachments and identify strengths and sources
of personal and family resilience.
The project draws on a relational systemic approach and multi-family therapy ideas, which consider the importance of safe and secure family relationships in addressing individual children's difficulties and parenting challenges and the importance of engaging a number of families at the same time in a mutually supportive environment. This will also promote long-term support networks.
